How to replace the backup sensor on an Toyota FJ Cruiser
The backup sensor warns you of anything that may be behind you and you can't see it. It gives a warning when you are about to hit something. The backup sensor is important to have working on the Toyota FJ Cruiser because it's a big vehicle. So follow the steps below to get started on replacing the backup sensor.

Go to the Toyota dealer and buy a backup sensor for the Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Remove the plastic bumper cover to get to the backup sensor location.

Open up the back door to remove the bolts on top of the bumper cover. You will also find a button fastener where the bumper wraps around the corner where the exhaust is. Remove that as well.

Now to remove the plastic cover by pulling the snaps that is wrapped around the corner of the truck. Use a little bit of force and it will come off.

Now remove the old sensor by using sliding in a screwdriver and giving it a little tug and it will come right off.

Put the new sensor in the hole and snap it into place. Then you will need to hook up back the wire harness to the sensor.

Realign the bumper up with everything, and use a little bit of pressure to snap it back into place.

Before bolting up anything, test the sensors to make sure it works. If it works, then tighten up everything. You are now done.
