How to Replace a Toyota Bumper

The bumper on a Toyota is secured to the frame by bolts on the inside of the bumper. The number of bolts and the placement of the bolts securing it to the frame will differ from each model. You can buy a replacement bumper at a Toyota dealership or website, but the cost of the new bumper will be different for each model. You will need a few basic tools and ratchet set because the bolt sizes will also be different for each model.

things you'll need:

  • Car jack
  • Jack stands
  • Screwdriver
  • Ratchet set

      Raise the Toyota off of the ground using the car jack. Lower the Toyota onto a jack stand to safely support the weight of the frame.

      Remove the bolts and screws securing the bumper to the frame and fenders. The bolts and screws will be around the radiator. fenders and the grill on the front of the Toyota. Pull the bumper off of the frame.

      Place the new bumper onto the frame, and replace the bolts and screws to secure the new bumper to the frame of the Toyota. Lift the frame of the Toyota using the jack, and remove the jack stand from under the frame. Lower the Toyota to the ground.
