If you realize that your gas pedal is stuck and your vehicle is accelerating, don't panic. Calmly grab your gear shifter and place it in neutral. Your engine will rev up and make lots of noise, but you will no longer be accelerating. This will not damage your engine. Almost all vehicles on the road today have rev limiters that keep their engines from over-revving and incurring damage.
